Why it had to see an end? Why the listeners are in tears? And How to fill the void?
Just as the father of English Geoffrey Chaucer said: “ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END”! So did The Tablo Podcast!- But why is it that there’s this void now like a black hole that nothing seems to suffice it?- Well, its the question most devoted listeners are facing! So lets jump right in as to what this tornado was.
Thet Tablo Podcast(or ‘podclass’ as fans like to call it) Was non-existent before august 2019! It began with just one interview episode on Kpop Daebak another podcast hosted by star personality Eric Nam on which Tablo(of Epik High) appeared with his manager Eddie Nam in July of 2019 and Shot up conversations to reveal Insider stories such as how Tablo wanted to sign eric on his label and their first meeting being with them high and him peeing right next to eric’s poster placed in the bathroom! And their cave me in collaboration with gallant! And the huge response that lit the flame and made Tablo Dream of owning a podcast too!! And the rest is history.
Just as he mentioned in the 2-minute introductory clip he had huge plans he wanted to do it for 4 years and come back listen and laugh at his first episode! But things turned otherwise. Everyone fell in love with his ‘brand of dark humour’, ideals, his lessons and originality along with his daughter! Starting right from marvel and how to cope while being against your parents to all the types of cats; red lobsters in prison, Asian discrimination to what not! He set things clear with Eddie trying to put his image upfront regularly destroyed by Tablo and Diane!
Now as to why he quit – just like all his other shows- He felt the podcast swimming into “the danger zone” where now it felt like a routine, a responsibility too much for him and decided to end it on a high note just like he wanted at the 3rd episode – Tablo came; conquered and left- Well That’s exactly like he predicted he slid in to in scene made a BAAM and yes left! Left all his listeners now addicted to hearing him every Thursday with no choice but to relisten to them ALL!
His school of BLOWFISHES(fans) has honestly respected and accepted his decision but just like all fans our greed exists asking him to appear on other podcasts of Dive studios!
How do you fill the void? Honestly there aint one answer to it cause the only thing that can be just as good as The Tablo Podcast and can fill us to the brim would be – THE TABLO PODCAST S2- but in the meantime, fans have taken to Epik High content and a mix of other podcasts like Get Real, How Did I Get Here? And Kpop Daebak a combination of which though cannot fill the cup tend to at least go about 3 quarters of it! And yes obviously Re-listening! Even relistening session can make you go through the rollercoaster again leaving you with residual doubts ‘was it deja vu?’.
