Kim K’s all-black-body-sock-outfit sure as hell birthed fantastic memes. However, an Instagram post by @girlsagainstoppresion sparked controversy about how okay it was for Kim to be covered in entirely black. Meanwhile, countries such as France ban hijabs. According to the post, Muslim women were considered oppressed. Balenciaga, the creators of Kimmie’s look, have, once again, found themselves amidst a controversy,  a few days after having their sweatpants accused of being racist.

US Congresswoman, AOC, created a huge conversation with her Met Gala dress: Tax the Rich. Mixed reactions for pulling this look on. Some point out the irony, the irony to spread such a message at a party, where getting a table supposedly costs $35,000. While some commend her on the effort, the effort put in using America’s biggest event for spreading an important message.
