To some, it might be a surprise to learn that Drake and Kanye West have been beefing for almost 10 years now. Yes, their feud stems from years of back and forth. How did this beef start ?

Drake once named Kanye as his favorite artists and idolized his work for the longest time, but in a competitive industry, particularly in the rap community, your idols often become your rivals. In 2010, Kanye co-produced and co-wrote a track from Drake’s debut album called ‘Find Your Love’ which was a smash hit and ended up peaking at #5 on the Billboard charts. This massive achievement changed Kanye’s attitude about working with Drake as he claimed that Drake had gotten too big.

After this, the beef stayed stale for while until 2018. ‘The Story of Adidon”’, a diss track on Drake was released by rapper Pusha T. The track exposed Drake for hiding a son from the world which turned out to be true. Drake said that only Kanye knew about his kid and Kanye told Pusha T this intel. Kanye denied these claims.

That brings us to now, Kanye West has been delaying his highly anticipated album “Donda” due to mixing issues and what not, but many speculate that he wants to drop on the same day as Drake’s also highly anticipated album “Certified Lover Boy”. Drake made sure to let the world know he isn’t threatened by Kanye at all by throwing in a diss at him on ‘Betrayal”, a track from rapper Trippie Redd’s latest album.

Kanye responded by adding Drake to a groupchat and saying that he has been dealing with bullies his entire life and saying that Drake will never recover. A few days after this he posted Drake’s address online in a now deleted post. Drake simply responded with a video of himself laughing.
